Conditions of Sale

1. BlDDlNG BY POST: is little different from normal auction bidding. Simply select the lots on which you wish to bid and list the maximum amount you are prepared to pay for each. We will endeavour to purchase the lots for you at as low a figure as possible and will go to the limit of your bid only when absolutely necessary to purchase the lot. The highest bidder is the purchaser at about 5% - 10% above the next highest bid. Ifyou wish you may bid on all lots of interest to you but still control your total purchases by writing on the bid form "Limit of Purchase $ . . . . . . ". Once this total is reached all bids on further lots are cancelled.

2. PLEASE BID EARLY: Besides assisting us this-has the great advantage that if two bids of the same amount are received for a particular lot, then the first to reach us takes precedence. All bids received by phone, telegram etc, must be confirmed in writing.

3. "BUY BIDS": are accepted only on the condition that the Auctioneer's discretion is absolute, and his decision, in case of dispute, final.

4. DESCRIPTIONS: of each lot are given as clearly and fully as possible within the space limits. All catalogue numbers are from Stanley Gibbons' current catalogues, or Campbell Paterson's New Zealand Catalogue. Any others will be mentioned by name. The number of stamps in each lot is given in brackets at the end of the description.

5. RETURN OF LOTS: Any lot found to be incorrectly described may be returned provided that the return is made within 48 hours of receipt.

6. VALUATIONS: given for each lot are based on our conservative estimate of current market value and should prove a reliable guide to collectors. Many items have Low reserves so bids can be made either above or below estimate Some popular lots can sell at up to twice the estimate or more.

7. LOTS WILL BE ON VIEW: at our office preceding each Sale. Lots of a suitable size can be sent through the post for inspection, all charges (registration, insurance etc) being borne by the client. New clients should furnish suitable references or send full cash deposit. Collections, mixed and bulky lots can under no circumstances be forwarded for inspection. All lots sent for inspection must be returned within 24 hours of receipt. Photocopies of any items can be sent at 20 cents per sheet plus postage.

8. LOTS PURCHASED: will be forwarded by registered mail and insured, all charges to be borne by the purchaser. Clients unknown to us will receive their lots immediately upon payment of the account.

9. INSURANCE: We have a policy with an Insurance Company which covers all sendings for their full value. A small charge in addition to postage and registration is made on all lots to cover this insurance.

10. PAYMENT: may be made by credit card, cash, cheque or bank draft.

11. ALL ACCOUNTS MUST BE PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS OF RECEIPT.

12. THIS AUCTION IS RUN UNDER THE GUIDELINES SET BY THE NEW ZEALAND STAMP DEALERS ASSOCIATION.
